Happiness

Have you ever came across something that, well... for whatever reason every time you looked at it it just made you happy? Sure you have, hopefully every day... and if you're really lucky (or shall I say blessed) it happens to you multiple times a day. Now- I'm not talking about the obvious things we love like family and friends... I'm talking about something different. Something not expected and unanticipated that simply makes your heart smile every time you get a glance of it.

That moment happened to me today. After photographing little bunnies in my front yard (Oh, those make me happy too!) I began walking back in the house. On the way in I took one last glance at my "Julia Child" rose bush tree and thought, "Wow, those flowers make me so happy." Yes. I realize we are talking about a flower here, but truly, that little tree makes me so darn happy. I can't quite figure it out. I don't think it's the normal "girl & flowers" thing. I mean, what girl doesn't love flowers, right? I don't know if it's the shape of the tree (a little trunk with a ball at the top full of blooms) or the color and shape  of the roses (small, buttery yellow) or maybe even the sweet smell they exude... but whatever it is... it makes my heart smile.  I've wanted these trees for a few years now but haven't really felt like splurging on one ($30 each, I of course ended up getting 2- oopsy). Finally, after getting my little cottage *almost* finished on the inside I was able to start on the outside. Finally... it was time :) All I know is that whatever it is about those flowers that make me happy, it 's worth every penny.

{ maternity } Anna & Jeremy -Jackson too!

Oh how I love baby bumps! There is something so amazing about a woman that's preggo...  they truly do glow. Anna and I had been discussing doing her maternity photos for months now. Finally, little Mr. Jackson got just big enough for me to take some pictures of his mommy (and of course we made Dad join in on a few too). I took these photos on Jeremy and Anna's land in Sharpsburg. They have some amazing places for photos. Anna was very vibrant, beautiful and up for anything- we had a lot of fun being creative. Seeing Anna in all her beauty made me miss the feeling of carrying a little one. I enjoyed being pregnant and can't wait until I get to experience that again.

Beautiful { kiddos }

I had so much fun at Ella's 1st Birthday Party not only photographing her but also the other children as well. I really enjoy chasing kids around with my camera doing whatever it takes to either 1. make them laugh or 2.  sneak around until I catch them laughing without seeing me. What an adventure :) I was so mesmerized by all the beautiful children I couldn't help but post more photos of Ella's party guests.

{ birthday } Miss ELLA

A friend of mine, Whitney, asked me to photograph a friend's little girl's 1st Birthday party. Of course I said yes, how could anyone turn that down? What a blast I had!! I had such a fantastic time getting to know Ella and her parents. Very cool family.  Little Miss Ella was the happiest, most content baby I think I've ever met. I arrived at her house at 2 and left around 6... she did not pout or cry one single time. You would think with all the commotion and company she would get at least a little cranky.... NOPE! Ella remained a joyful little birthday girl throughout the entire celebration. The camera loved her, and so did I :) Happy Birthday Ella!! You are an amazing little girl. Ps- There were many beautiful children at this party that I had the opportunity to photograph. Photos of them coming next :)

{ wedding } PADOVANI

First, I want to thank the bride & groom, Nick and Allison, for being so wonderful to work with on their special day. Through the pouring down rain and awful thunderstorms they remained calm, cool and collected- never phased them at all. How admirable! Second, I want to thank my dear friend Ashley Fehr for coming along to shoot the wedding with me. Ashley is an interior designer with a very artistic eye (hence, interior "designer") so I knew she would be perfect. And that she was :)
Before the wedding I did the usual planning. Ashley and I scoped out the church, lighting, etc. to get a good feel for poses and shots that we wanted get. We were planning on the majority of our shots  being taken outside (I feel more comfortable with natural lighting). The church, Fairburn United Methodist, has some very pretty natural backdrops. Also, downtown Fairburn was literally right across the street. We had one million ideas for that old town. I was oozing with ideas, specifically for the downtown area. **Then I saw the forecast: BOO.
Well, looks like Plan B, right? You have to love it when life throws you one of those curve balls just to keep things interesting. I appreciate a challenge, and that's exactly what I got. Ok, rain... thunderstorms.... wedding photography: Bingo- UMBRELLAS! I had seen some pretty amazing wedding photographs using umbrellas. Heck, I figured we might as well make the best of it... so that's exactly what we did. We thought outside the box and made it happen.
