Chris + Heather | Vinewood Plantaion & J.Andrew's Bridal Shoot

A few weeks ago I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Chris + Heather, a husband and wife photography team (you can check out their work here - such an inspiring duo). This beautiful couple decided they wanted to start their 13th year of marriage off with some spice. The three of us hooked up this J.Andrew's Bridal boutique + Vinewood Plantation for a smokin' hot husband and wife styled shoot.

I love teaming up with other vendors and developing something creative and inspiring, a look that's different than the everyday shoot. Heather's black sequin dress was nothing short of amazing. Chris was rocking his tux, and together they were magical. I can't tell you how many times I had to stop shooting just to catch my breath - these two were steamy and so much fun to work with! I can't wait to get together again :)

If you were to ask Chris + Heather I know they'd agree... marriage truly does get sweeter with time. Congrats on 13 years, wishing you guys many many more!!

American Boho | Sarah Norman Photography

A little over a year ago, an old friend from elementary school, Sarah, reached out to me for advice about pursuing a career in photography. I love to help other photographers any way that I can so I invited Sarah to shadow me on a few sessions to give her an idea of how I run my business. In my experience, being around other photographers is the best way to learn, and I have been amazed by the photographer that Sarah has developed into over the last few months! She has really pushed herself to hone her camera and editing skills, I couldn’t be more proud of her!

A few months ago, Sarah asked if I would let her photograph me for practice. Like most photographers, I am very reluctant to get in front of the camera. I can't recall my exact response but I'm sure it was something along the lines of... "Do I have to?" Although I was hesitant, I agreed to it.

The longer I have been a photographer the more uncomfortable I have become being a model, but Sarah made me feel so relaxed in front of the camera. She pulled me right out of my discomfort! I had so much fun shooting with Sarah, it was a blast channeling my inner hippie and pretending that I was a flower child living in the 70's!

Sarah Norman Photography did such a great job capturing the mood of this shoot. I can't wait to see where she takes her talent! :)

Ashley | Newnan, GA Photographer

Believe it or not, it is possible to be cute, sexy, and beautiful. All in one? Yes: All. In. One. Ashley from Adventures of Newlyweds is proof.

I've known Ashley for years. We awkwardly sat on the front row in 6th grade band class. When I say awkward I mean Tommy Hilfiger attire, braces, and flutes. Oh, and don't let me forget to mention the double pair of mens' white athletic socks, scrunched to perfection. I wish I was kidding.

Almost fifteen years later and Ashley is anything BUT awkward. She and her husband travel the states moving to new cities every few months for his job (major cool points in my book). Ashley shares all of their adventures with Jonathan (and their pup, Bella) on her blog- hence Adventures of Newlyweds. During a short visit to Newnan, Ashley asked me to take a few shots for her blog. Lucky me! Now, for proof that, indeed, it's possible to be cute, sexy, and beautiful...

And just for a good laugh...

dressU Photo shoot

A friend of mine, Jenna, opened her own clothing boutique [dressU, http://www.shopdressu.com] 1 year ago. How inspiring that she pursued her dream! Jenna emailed me asking if I would be interested in photographing a few models for the front of her website. I was STOKED... "Um, YES!!" ...but of course there are always obstacles involved in everything we do :) She needed me at 4 o'clock last Friday, the same exact time as a rehearsal and rehearsal dinner I had already committed to. What's a girl to do, right? Well, I couldn't let this opportunity pass me by so I swung it... I had Jenna back her models up an hour and told the bride I would be 20 min. late. I pulled it off! So, although the day was hectic (I'm also a teacher) I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I feel like that day taught me a lot as a wanna-be photographer. The models were amazing, and the setting was fabulous. Jenna's store just so happens to be next door to an antique warehouse so we borrowed a few props and ended up in the antique junk yard. The sun was shining and so was my <3.
ps- A fun litte tid-bit I learned from one of the models: The old vintage couch was stuffed with hay, which is what they did in the old days... hence, "Don't let the bed bugs bite!"
